Assistant Principal’s Report

Acknowledgments

  • Mrs. Mollenhour and I took our 8th graders to tour Pleasant Hill High School on Feb. 2.  

  • Mrs. Silva and the Student Council sponsored a Super Bowl Spirit Week the 6th-9th.    

  • Counselor Appreciation Week was celebrated the week of the 6th.  Mrs. Pickering created door decorations along with help from students grades K-8.    

  • Feb.12 school was in session for a snow make-up day.

  • Valentine’s Day parties were held for grades K-5 the afternoon of Feb. 14. Thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help or send in supplies/goodies.

  • PTO sponsored a Sock Hop for all families on Feb. 16.

  • Judith Soltys was present on Feb. 20.    

Curriculum 

  • We will continue our work on the social studies curriculum throughout the year. 

  • Teachers are currently reviewing ELA materials published by McGraw Hill.  This is the updated Wonders textbook series.

NEW BUSINESS

1. McKinstry presentation over Phase 3 Projects. The Board approved the proposal 7-0.

2. 8th grade field trip was discussed, no vote.

3. 2024-2025 Health Insurance plans and premiums were approved 7-0.

4. 2024-2025 Certified and Classified salary schedules were approved 7-0.

5. The Board voted 7-0 to use Therapy Log as a School Nurse Supervisor for the 2024-2025 school year.

6. The Board accepted the bids from Sunnyside Dairy for milk and Sally’s Propane for Propane for the 2024-2025 School Year.

7. The Board voted to change the daily start and end times for the 2024-2025 school year. School will start at 8:00 and end at 3:35 daily. 6-1.

8. The Board voted to go into closed session. 7-0.

The board voted to go into closed session following the regular meeting in compliance with 620.021 RSMo for the following purposes:

610.021 (3) RSMo – Hiring, terminating, disciplining, or promoting.

610.021 (13) RSMo – Personnel records, evaluations, applications.

CLOSED SESSION

1. Call to order.

2. Adoption of minutes from February 15, 2024.

3. There were no deletions or additions to the agenda.

4. The Board Approved the Agenda.

5. The Board was briefed on Teacher evaluations. No action was taken.

6. The Board approved offering contracts to Tenure teachers for the 24-25 school year. 7-0 Those teachers include: Mr. Clark, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Tribble, Mrs. Silva, Mrs. Chojnacki, Mrs. Adams, and Mrs. Pickering.

7. The Board approved offering contracts to Probationary teachers for the 24-25 school year. 7-0. Those teachers include: Mrs. Lovell, Mrs. Kling, Mrs. Preston, Mrs. Griffith, Mrs. Mollenhour, and Mrs. Stanfield.

8. The Board voted to come out of close session 7-0
