RE: Student Field Trip Guidelines

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we approach the end of the school year, we want to remind you of the rules and guidelines outlined in the 2023-2024 Student Handbook regarding school-sponsored field trips (these rules do not govern PTO-sponsored field trips). These rules are implemented to ensure all students' safety and well-being and maintain a conducive learning environment throughout the academic year.

One of the key requirements for students to participate in district-sponsored field trips is to maintain a clean disciplinary record throughout the academic year. As per the Student Handbook, students must not have any instances of Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) disciplinary actions during the academic year of the field trip. This rule is essential as it reflects our commitment to fostering a positive and respectful school community.

Furthermore, we also emphasize the importance of regular attendance. Students must maintain a minimum of a 90% yearly attendance rate to be eligible to attend district-sponsored field trips. We believe consistent attendance is crucial for academic success and ensures that students can fully benefit from the educational experiences offered during these trips.

It's important to note that these rules are in place to maintain fairness and safety for all students. While we understand that missing out on a field trip may be disappointing, we believe upholding these standards to promote a positive and productive learning environment is essential.

If you have any questions or concerns about these field trip rules, please do not hesitate to contact us. Attendance percentages change daily; therefore, we cannot give an accurate percentage until the day before the scheduled field trip.  We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us provide enriching educational experiences for all our students.

Sincerely,

Chrystal  Mayfield
