Dear Strasburg C-3 Families,

As we prepare to launch the 2025–2026 school year, I want to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to each of you. I hope you’ve had a wonderful and restful summer, filled with time for both relaxation and connection. We are thrilled to begin another year of learning, growth, and community with our students and families.

We look forward to welcoming all students back to school on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025. Our teachers and staff have been working hard behind the scenes to prepare classrooms, enhance programming, and ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for every child.

📅 Open House – August 14, 2025 (5:30 PM – 7:30 PM)

Please join us for our annual Open House on Thursday, August 14th, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to:

  • Meet your child’s teachers and support staff

  • Tour the school and visit classrooms

  • Drop off school supplies

  • Add funds to lunch accounts

  • Pay technology insurance (grades 3–8)

  • Talk with ECCO Ride regarding  bus transportation

  • Learn about new programs and updates

We encourage all families to attend and help us kick off the school year with strong school-home partnerships.

🕒 School Day Schedule

This year, the daily schedule remains:
Doors Open: 7:40 AM
Instruction Begins: 8:00 AM
Dismissal: 3:35 PM

Middle school students involved in athletics at Pleasant Hill or Kingsville may be signed out for practices (2:45 PM for Pleasant Hill, 3:10 PM for Kingsville). These early releases only impact RTI/WIN (study hall) time and will not count against attendance. Please note that families are responsible for transportation to and from athletics at these locations.

🚌 Transportation Updates

We are pleased to share that the Pleasant Hill School District will be providing transportation for Strasburg high school students attending Pleasant Hill this year. Additionally, Strasburg C-3 will continue to provide transportation for high school students attending Lone Jack, as we have in previous years. If you have any transportation-related questions or need to confirm eligibility, please contact the office or speak with ECCO Ride representatives at Open House.

📝 Online Enrollment

Online enrollment for returning students runs from July 15 through August 15, 2025. New families or those needing assistance can visit the school from August 4th–7th between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. 👋 New Staff & Role Updates

We are pleased to welcome new and transitioning staff members to our Strasburg family:

  • Mrs. Breanna Miller will serve as our full-time Kindergarten teacher (formerly our PAT instructor).

  • Ms. Jenna Marconett will now serve as our Parents as Teachers (PAT) coordinator and will assist in K–1st classrooms on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays while completing her degree at UCM.

  • Ms. Adalain Howser, a graduate of the College of the Ozarks and a former 1:1 aide at East Lynne, will join us as our new 5th Grade teacher.

Please take a moment to welcome and support these educators as they begin or continue their journey at Strasburg C-3.

🛠 Summer Facility Improvements

We are proud to recognize our outstanding custodial team, Irene Chamberlain and Jacob Greife, for their hard work in preparing our campus. Their efforts included deep cleaning, floor stripping, painting, and general repairs to ensure a welcoming environment for our students and staff. We have also added new fire safety doors to the exterior for safety code compliance. We are immensely grateful for your continued support, as these much-needed changes would not have been possible without your assistance.

📵 Senate Bill 68 – Cell Phone Use in Schools

In alignment with Missouri Senate Bill 68, which addresses appropriate cell phone use in public schools, Strasburg C-3 has updated its student handbooks to reflect these new expectations. The legislation encourages schools to limit the use of personal electronic devices during instructional time to minimize distractions, protect student privacy, and support academic focus.

We encourage parents to review the revised handbook with their children to ensure full understanding and cooperation. These updates will support Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) and 504 plans, but will also support a more focused, respectful, and safe school environment for all.

Thank you for being a vital part of our Strasburg community. We are excited to partner with you this year to provide every child with a safe, challenging, and enriching educational experience. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Enjoy the rest of your summer, we can’t wait to see you soon!

Respectfully,

Mr. Harrison Campbell

Principal
