In the event of an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Day, our goal is to ensure that learning continues smoothly even when students cannot attend school in person. AMI days may be used for inclement weather, health-related closures, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Below is an overview of how the AMI day will work for all K–8 students:
1. Communication & Access
Families will be notified of an AMI day through the district’s messaging system (email, text, or phone call), the school website, and social media.
Teachers will post daily assignments and announcements in Google Classroom by 8:00 AM.
For students without reliable internet access, teachers have prepared offline work packets that align with classroom learning.
2. Instructional Expectations
Teachers will be available throughout the day to support students via email and Google Meets.
Students may join live sessions or reach out to teachers during their scheduled times (see below) through Google Meet for questions, reviews, check-ins, or clarification.
Assignments completed during the AMI day will count toward both grades and attendance.
3. Attendance & Grading
Attendance will be determined by the completion of assigned work.
Students who experience challenges (such as internet issues) should communicate with their teachers to make alternative arrangements.
4. Special Services
Special education, Title, and related service teachers will continue to support students per their IEP or 504 plan.
Virtual check-ins will be available during the scheduled times below.
5. Technology Support
If students experience technology issues, please reach out to the district help desk, lmooney@strasburg.k12.mo.us, between 8:00 AM – 3:35 PM.
We appreciate your flexibility and support in helping our students stay engaged and learning even when school cannot be held on campus. If you have any questions about your child’s schedule or assignments, please reach out directly to their classroom teacher.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Campbell at hcampbell@strasburg.k12.mo.us
