Dear Strasburg C-3 Families,
Welcome back!! I am excited for the students to return on August 23, 2022. I cannot wait to see them and hear about their summer adventures! It has been a busy summer at Strasburg C-3! The district hired ABBCO for maintenance and custodial services after Mr. Sid’s retirement in June. They have spent the summer deep cleaning, painting, stripping floors, and making general repairs to the building. We have also begun Phase I of our bond issue projects: HVAC systems have been rejuvenated, 3 parts of the roof have been coated and sealed, roof crickets have been added to the gym roof to help prevent gym leaks, and LED lighting has been installed district-wide, and control optimizations have been reviewed and changed to keep our building more energy efficient. Thank you for your continued support, we couldn’t have made the needed changes without you!
The first day of school will be on August 23, 2022. The school day will begin at 8:20 and end at 3:55 pm. Doors will open at 8:00 am, and breakfast will be served until 8:20 am. Breakfast will cost $1.60, lunch will cost $2.20, and extra milk will cost $ 0.45. Please keep in mind that teacher contracted hours begin at 7:45 a.m., so there is limited supervision until 8:00 each morning. Due to supervision and safety, please do not drop your students off before 8:00 a.m. We will also continue to use our pick-up and drop-off procedures that were in place last year. If you have questions about those procedures, please contact the office.
Open house will take place on August 17, 2022, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. School supply lists can be found on the district website, if using the app they can be found under the documents tab. Technology fees will be collected for grades 3-8 at the open house and devices will be distributed during the first week of school. Due to the large number of damaged Chromebooks last year in grades 5-8, devices will remain at school and will only be sent home with students if needed for a potential AMI day or long-term absence. The technology fee will act as an insurance fee and will cover any initial Chromebook repairs. If you have technology-related questions, please reach out to Laura Mooney.

Once again, Mrs. Kristin Tribble will be serving as part-time assistant principal this school year. Mrs. Tribble will handle student discipline and classroom concerns. She will also be the 6th-8th grade Social Studies teacher and continue to serve as our District Curriculum Director. Please follow the set chain of command in communicating concerns with the District: classroom teacher, assistant principal (Mrs. Tribble), and finally principal/superintendent (Dr. Mayfield).
STUDENT ONLINE ENROLLMENT RUNS FROM AUGUST 1, 2022- AUGUST 15, 2022. Please see the enclosed directions for enrolling online this school year. Instructional videos will also be posted on the district website under the parent-student tab.
If you would like to come in to enroll your student we will have a late night enrollment on August 3, 2022, from 1:00-6:00 pm.
