October 13, 2022 Board Meeting- Media Summary

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT

Current Enrollment as of 9/7/2022: 127 students

Board Training-November 1, 2022 @ 6:00pm

I.  McKinstry Update

The roofers will be here on the 17th of October to work on the roof vents, crickets, and metal roof leaks.

 II. Safety drills

To date, we have successfully completed two fire drills and one intruder drill. The first three drills went smoothly with no concerns to report. Our new emergency response guides are hanging in all classrooms and the teachers have stated that they are much more detailed and user-friendly.

K-5 Fire safety training with the Pleasant Hill Fire Department was hugely successful.  We hope to have bicycle and water safety training for all students this spring.

III. Lead Testing

I have reached out to AXIOM Services and they are currently in the process of creating a proposal for our water testing. Even though this isn’t required until January 1, 2024, I would like to get ahead of this because there is some grant money available to remedy the situation if needed.

IV. LETRS Training

I am currently working on a plan to have RPDC come in and provide LETRS training during all of next year’s PD days. This will meet the requirement for the new Reading Law in regard to training.  This is currently a free training service through RPDC and is a statewide initiative through DESE.
